Thad Beach

Thad Beach is a full-time entertainer, musician, songwriter, storyteller, and teaching artist living in Salina, Kansas. Beach has performed across the Southeast and Midwest regions of the United States and worked with students in settings ranging from early childhood through elementary, middle and high school.

Beach explores local history, heritage, and culture with students through oral history gathering and documenting the results. In his “Songsmith” approach, he sparks a genuine interest and excitement in students to tell the story of their “home” and history using unique language, dialects, phrases, place names, and other diverse cultural factors. Using music and a language arts-based approach to songwriting, Thad helps students in rural areas and neighborhoods find a common voice and value their diverse cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds. He inspires and invites his audience to think, ponder and solve problems on their own.
