Matt Mason

Matt Mason is a poet, author, and teacher. He has not only become an entertaining poet himself, but he has also started programs and workshops to help young writers with feedback and guidance around the Midwest. He has taught creative writing courses at UNO, Midland Lutheran College, and Buena Vista University, workshops in four states and for the U.S. State Department in Belarus.

Mason’s work and experience as a performing poet creates a lively, entertaining show. But, Mason also hopes his work demonstrates the fun and benefits of poetry. By helping students create their own poetry, Mason wants to emphasize that good and important poetry is about finding your own voice and examining your experiences. He helps teach young students that their experiences are important and are worth putting into poetic form.
